hi its Rose and i thought that since me and Megan have been neglecting the sight for a while that i would start a new journal series on shopping. i know that it probably doesn’t interest you at all but I’m sure many of you can relate to how i feel . I dont like to think that I’m a  shopaholic, but i do love the feeling of walking into a store and smelling that smell of fresh floral perfume, and feeling that sense of belonging. When the clothes just kind of invite you inside and ask you to try them on. Whether its the perfect pair of shoes or a Rolex watch guys and girls both can get addicted to shopping no matter what people say. It can affect anyone. Anyone can say that they like to shop but how many can  say that when they shop it feels better than eating  the best tasting food in the world or spending their whole summer brake in their vacation dream spot, or spending Christmas with their whole family in Hawaii, not many. Not many can say they depend on buying clothes like they depend on eating food. But shopping gives you an invigorating feeling like no other. It makes you feel special like the clothes chose you for a reason. Saturday, i was shopping and i found these three really cute shirts and i felt as if it was necessary for survival to get them. It was like if i didn’t get them i wouldn’t be able to make it through another day. Do you think i got them?

Well i did, but that was not the right question to ask, it wasn’t a matter of am i getting them it was a matter of who was going to pay for them my mom or me? Because that wasn’t all i got that day i also got 3 pairs of jeans 1 pair of shorts and also a pair of shoes. But were they also necessary for survival? That was the thing,  i didn’t know… but i was pretty sure they were when i got them.  You see i just saw this movie a couple of days ago called Confessions of a Shopaholicand it really made me think about my compulsive buying. I didn’t want to end up like her with 12 credit cards and $16, 000 in debt. I knew this was not a true story but It made me realize that i shouldn’t care so much about material things. But i cant help it. Its not like one movie can  just change me but i am going to attempt to change myself and with your help and this journal i will tell you along the way about my journey to a more material free life

xoxoxo Your material girl Rose

OK, so this week being veg and what not didn’t go down so hot. I have still been sticking to my veggie life but my parents were getting a little irritated when they were making dishes with meat in them or something and i didnt want to eat them. They always said “just pick out the dang meat!” Other thank that my parents finally excepted that i was a vegetarian so now things are cool.

My favorite foods this week are HUMUS BURGERS!! omg i had one when i was up at my cottage this weekend and it was amazingly good. full of protein too.

That’s about it for this week so yeah! by the way, i will be doing these posts every Wednesday instead of Tuesday, just to clarify. TTY’alls later!! bye

Sorry, I’m a day late. It happens!!! My first week of being a vegetarian was pretty good! I feel pretty much the same, besides every time i see meat, i feel bad for the animal that died just so that person could salivate over a dead animal. wow, that sounds disgusting, but its true! Yesterday i was so proud of myself though because i didn’t eat McDonald’s french fries!!! The reason i didn’t eat them is because McDonald’s french fries and chicken are fried in chicken fat!! no surprise there…

Now for me, meat is not an option because i don’t crave it that much. sometimes if i am very hungry and there is nothing to eat in the house but ravioli (stuffed with beef), sure, i am tempted, but i know what those poor cows went through just for a greedy American to eat. I also know how it will effect my body, so it virtually is not an option.

Ok, ‘nough said here but next week i will update you on how its going!!!

for those of you who are going through this experience with me, good luck to all of you and also good for you for doing what is best for yourself and all of the animals out there.

Love yas! ~~♥M|E|G|A|N♥~~

Relationships

Summer love… Everyone wants it but not all can find it. Love can be a great thing. But. It can also be a burden when your not looking for it. Though i have not experienced it i have heard, read, so many things that it almost feels as if i have experienced. But after all the things i have read on it i would think i have some wisdom to share… So far we have not added anything to the relationship category for posts. So i figured i would get it started with a little wisdom about summer love. So, though i have not experienced it try and bear with me and see if you can at least comment if you think im wrong! thx

The first thing about it is that its great…!!! At least from wut i’ve heard and imagined it is. Summer love i believe is the one of the best and worst kinds of love because it can be the strongest it seems… From movies like The Notebook they make it out to be glamorous and great until (of course as summer love usually does) it all falls apart. :( (( But what doesn’t usually happen is them ending up together. I think one thing we should take away from this movie is that summer love should be left for (hate to say it) summer… It seems so much harm can come from summer love. And once the leaves begin to change, and you have to go back to school or work… things… just aren’t the same. The summer breezes of love are no longer flowing. The beautiful flowers are no longer blooming. And the love between you… Is no longer blossoming. You begin to fight and resent each other. I’m not saying this is always the case but it often turns out this way… so why is love so cruel you ask? Why is it so easy to fall in love in the summer? Well people can blame it on hormones or the happiness of their freedom,  or even try and come with some reason that’s all scientific. but me I’m just going to say love is unexpected and uncontrollable. So really the truth is for all the people who try and say  things like “She/He’s a jerk stop loving him/her”  You need to shut UP! because love isn’t something that you can just turn on and off when ever it’s convenient for you. Love does what it wants and takes orders from no one! So if you are in love with a jerk all i can say is delete him as your friend on facebook/myspace, don’t let him stop in, whenever. Don’t talk/text him EVER!!! And find some new way to occupy yourself where the damage will be minimal and you can at least try and delete him from your life. But the hardest part is when you work together or go to school together because  its not like hes just going to disappear so all you can do is hope he moves to Africa and if not just be happy for what you have now!!!! not what you used to have then..

love is great but it doesn’t always last. So keep looking  forward because there could be something better just around the corner!!! :)

love always!

Rose :) ))) ♥♥♥♥♥

Healthy Vegitarian Lifestyle

Hey guys, its Megan :)

2 days ago (on Tuesday) I decided to become a vegetarian. Not because i was told by my friends to become one or anything like that. It was my decision. I feel like a lame-o for not becoming a vegetarian earlier! Ever since i was a kid, I’ve always hated to eat meat. Well, it wasn’t a “hate” but more like a…dislike. The taste never appealed to me and i always felt disgusted with myself after eating meat. My parents call me a “natural born vegetarian” just because i have always loved vegetables and was never fond of meat.  The only thing that stopped me from actually becoming a vegetarian was the fact that I was super skinny as a child. My parents were always worried about me not getting enough nutrients, so doctors would always recommend ways for me to gain a little weight and as usual lots of protein and iron were recommended.

Anyways! (sorry if this is getting boring) I have finally come to a reasonable weight so i feel i don’t really need to eat meat to gain anything. I have always wanted to become a vegetarian and now i finally can! I just hate how the farm animals are treated (go to GoVeg.com for info), and I hate the idea of eating a dead carcass…lol.

So the point of this whole post is to just tell you guys that i am going to be making weekly blog posts about my experience being a vegetarian for 2 months, so 8 posts. I guess i will just tell you how i feel, my favorite veggie recepies and more that i will come up with later! This post is getting long enough already, but just tell me what you guys think and…yeah! I can’t wait to post my first post next tuesday. See ya guys!!!

With love, Megan :)

Hi I’m Rose and i highly recommend trying to be a vegetarian for one week! If you do entry it, u will notice many things like the way u feel inside and out will improve emotionally and physically!!!!! It’s true! Also your probably improve but not in a week u would have to stick to it for a while! and it’s just one more thing to try if u don’t like it u can always stop. But please read on for tips and tricks on being the only vegetarian in your family:)
appearance will

I have been a vegetarian since the 5th grade. And even before then i had never eaten red meat… I as a child growing up i thought it would taste bad so i never tried it. But as i grew up i realized i made more healthy  lifestyle choices than my friends, like choosing carrots or apples over chips and candy.

I also learned how they treated the animals before they arrive in the store all packaged up and ready to be eating. Though i have had chicken before i choose to not eat any meat now. My parents and sibling eat meat several times a week and as the only vegetarian in my family i struggle to make my own healthy vegetarian meals!!! But i find websites that have really yummy easy, good recipes!!! And if u ever have problems with getting enough protein or iron i have been there and done that.  A couple years ago my doctor told me i wouldn’t get any taller if i didn’t start eating meat. I was 5′1 I’m now 5′5 and 1/2. I grew and didn’t any eat meat. Nor did I take any supplement pills. My secret is a delicious smoothie! It may sound too good to be true but really all it is is some fruit, vegetables, protein powder, and almond milk  I will write the recipe at the end if you want it, I will also write some really good websites for healthy YUMMY vegetarian food! But first I will finish being a vegetarian all together will improve your life. Most vegetarians on average live 5 years longer than meat eaters! Wow, I know! And you outer appearance is usually slimmer, also great! So here  are some greats vegetarian meal sites and my vegan smoothie! so vegetarians and vegans enjoy!

Just to warn you I know this all sounds disgusting blended together its delicious i promise!!!!!!!!!

Smoothie recipe: :)

1 cup of almond milk

1 cup of frozen cherries

2 tablespoons of  whey protein powder

2 teaspoons of  Powdered Greens (contains iron and vegetables)

Half of a limes juice

Half of an avocado

A squirt of Agave syrup (like honey but different)

A capful of pure vanilla

Beauty, Fragrances

Well, this weekend I was mingling with all of the perfume bottles in Sephora (as we all do) and stumbled upon adorable little bottles. Now, I have seen the Harajuku fragrances before (I’m not that unaware! ) for some reason this time though, the fragrances just struck me as, well, a fatal attraction to cuteness! (the tag-line for the brand) I sniffed all of the scents quickly to see which ones i liked the best. This is in least favorite to most favorite:

Lil’ Angel

Yes, I know, a lot of people like this fragrance, but it was just too sweet for me! The scent is described as fruity, floral, colorful, tasty and sweet. Haha, those are the kinds of fragrances that give me  headache. Lil’ Angel never gave me a headache, but it was definitely to sweet for my taste.

G

Don’t get me wrong, love the smell of coconut, but I think this scent was a little to tropical for me. G is not as strong as Lil’ Angel, but it came close for me. As described as a modern gourmand (whatever that is) also tropical, sunny and delicious. This scent was just not refreshing enough to me.

Love

I actually loved this scent when I first sprayed it on my skin. It was very romantic smelling with a hint of rose and a few other scents i couldn’t quite put my finger on. Then for some reason it started smelling a little bug spray-ish. I don’t know. Maybe it was a bad batch? I’m hoping because this scent was quite pleasing to me. As described on the Harajuku website; A sensual floral. Tender, romantic and sensual. I agree (for the most part)

Baby

Ok, honestly it is a complete tie between the last 2 scents i tried. I decided to put baby here just because i thought that this scent was just not exciting enough, although I loved it, i felt it did smell a lot like baby powder so maybe the developing team for the Harajuku scents could have made this one a little bit more exciting. Oh well, this scent will continue to be in the tie for first because it is just so relaxing and almost fresh to me. A light, simple smell that is perfect for any occasion. The Harajuku site describes it as; A powdery musk. Fresh, clean and soft.

Music

Honestly, i don’t know why this is my favorite fragrance. I just fell in love with it, and  I have no clue why! Maybe its the fresh smelling pears paired up with the subtle sandalwood, but who knows. This hopefully will become my signature fragrance because its pretty much everything i want in a fragrance! Its soft, but not too soft. Fresh smelling, and relaxing! The Harajuku site describes this as; A delicate floral. Sparkling, yummy, and juicy. I plan on buying a full size bottle of this the next time i end up going to Sephora, so expect a more in depth review!

I hope you all found this review helpful on these fragrances. These are my opinions on what i think of them, so don’t take everything for word. Who knows, maybe you will end up liking different ones than I did. Everyone has a different taste in scents.

Fashion

hi I’m Rose :) My best friend Megan and i decided a little while ago to start a fashion blog. We were so excited. I know that i haven’t added any blog posts yet but i have a hot topic that has been eating away at me for a while that i feel you might be feeling too.

Awesome of you may know a few months ago (correct me if I’m wrong) Cosmo Girl magazine unexpectedly closed. All of us Cosmo girl readers I’m sure were upset, i know i was! All we got in return was a letter explaining  that we would no longer be receiving their magazine because they were closing with no explantion or warning.  I personally think we deserved a little warning or explanation??! Cosmo Girl was so great they had the best ideas and they weren’t expensive ideas either, which i don’t know about you but for us middle class girls that don’t carry around loads of money or family fortune it’s hard to get quality clothes and makeup for cheap. Cosmo Girl gave me reason to care about what i wear. Although i have always loved fashion! :) seventeen magazine is great but i have personally experienced both and  liked Cosmo Girl more. So why is it that they closed!!? Honestly i think it is the underlying problem of our economy! Several newspapers in the nation are closing because they don’t have enough readers buying their paper and without readers they cant pay for the upkeep of sending them out everyday. this now unfortunately is affecting the fashion world. When the economy gets bad the prices of cosmetics and clothing and fashion magazines get more and more expensive, and Cosmo Girl just couldn’t afford it anymore. Now I’m not saying this is the case because i don’t know why they closed. but it is very possible.  if u have any comments or corrections please comment. But for everyone who doesn’t read the paper or magazine stake a gander u may find that you actually like them. thx :)

Beauty, Skin Care

So, if you are familiar with the beauty community on youtube, you probly  have seen numerous videos on Lush, the handmade soaps and other cosmetics store. ever since i saw xsparkages video on lush cosmetics, all i hear about is “new lush haul everyone!” or maybe “my lush review”. Really people? are we getting to the point where it is now something as simple as soaps getting us all excited?! Now, dont get me wrong, there really is nothing like sitting in a steaming hot bath tub scrubbing yourself with your favorite soap, but to the point where i see young women comming back from lush with a huge bag, spending nearly $100 on bath products it’s just plain ridiculous in my opinion.

Personally, i have never set foot in a lush store, nor have i bought from them online, so i guess i really can’t tell you if i like their products or not. I would like to try them someday, but there isnt a lush store near me! I am not a huge online shopper either because i need to see the product in person and see if i like it. I dont know, i guess i’m just not into the whole idea. I also think they are a little on the expensive side, at $5.40-$10.95 for just 3.5oz of soap! I could understand spending that much or more money on good quality makeup, but soap??

Ok, i think i made my point here, haha. I guess this is just one of my famous rants. I hope no one took this offensively, and if you love  lush thats great. I’m not telling anyone they should’nt buy lush products, this is just my personal opinion. Well, thats it for me today guys. Hope to see you later! bye :)

Megan :)
