- Affordable but quality Sometimes quality clothes are hard to come by when your shopping with a budget of under $5o bucks but every single outfit in this collection is affordable and under $45. Stores like Von maur and Macey’s may be good quality but i can almost guarentee you that you will not be able to find outifts for low prices. So next time you go shopping try places like Forever 21 and H&M, and though it may seem like Jcpenny and Kohls aren’t as high quality as Macey’s they have great jeans for low prices, and sometimes some nice shirts too.

November 11th, 2009Makeup, UncategorizedUrban Decay is Hosting its annual Friends and Family sale on their website Nov. 7th – Nov. 20th! You only have a limited time so hurry quick! You can view the little advertisement here. Basically by entering the code “FNFW1″ you will receive 30% off your entire order. Now, is that a good deal or what?
Some items I think you should pick up (if you didn’t already) is the Urban Decay book of shadows vol. 2. You get so many shadows for a great price, and believe me when I say you will have that pallet forever. Another thing you should try out is the 24/7 glide on eye pencils. They are waterproof and are some of the creamiest eyeliners I have tried. Now you can buy a whole range of colors in a big set for a great price, so go check that out while your at it! I don’t really have any more recommendations because I don’t use a lot of Urban Decay products, but I will assure you, after this sale I will have a lot more UD products to talk about.

September 23rd, 2009Fashion, Uncategorizedlately, i haven’t had much of a chance to get on the Internet because i have been so busy with school and yearbook, and newspaper so sorry about that but when ever i get on the Internet the one website i have been going to repeatedly and that website is a blog called seaofshoes.com. I find myself looking at her pics for hours i just cant help myself. I aspire to one day have our blog as big as hers but i know it isn’t very realistic because for one she is well, very wealthy she goes on random trips all the time and i go on vacation maybe, once a year. She shops at designer stores and i shop at thrift stores. Her mom has her own blog too (which is also famous) my mom works at a university. She has been in teen vogue and Vogue and i read teen vogue and vogue. Let’s face it not everyone can be rich and famous. I wish i could shop at Chanel and LGB in Tokyo and barneys in new york ,and own my own pair of miu miu studded boots but the truth is not every teen in America is born into a family whose parents make 6 figures a year, or more. The real truth is my outfit is probably worth 20 bucks but i cant help that i still love fashion and aspire to write, design, and wear clothes that are worth more than everything i own. I cant help it at all. All i can do is continue to give you the real truth and not sugar coat it and not everyone in America can be like Jane from seaofshoes.com I’m sorry i don’t mean to offend you Jane in any way the truth is i wish i was you or i wish i was in you position anyway. America i promise to continue to give you the harsh reality and and as jane takes pics of herself in her designer clothes and plenty of other random amazing pics we will do the same but in clothes that are actually affordable for the average person so your not just dreaming and wishing but buying clothes that fit, that are still cute, may be missing just one thing (the label) but your gaining a lot more from it all. your wallet still has some money left in it, and by buying cheaper you get more
so stay out of the poor house and shop at places like: Forever 21, Plato’s closet, H&M, and places that have realistic prices so keep tuning in cuz soon we’ll add sum pics to!loves your shopgirl Rose

September 11th, 2009Uncategorizedsorry for the lack of posting everyone…since school started i just really don’t have time to do the posts like i use to do in the summer. I also have been running out of things to review because i don’t really have the money to just go out and buy beauty products. However for my birthday (aug.30th) my aunt gave me a really nifty Ulta gift card! Yey me! this weekend i hope to go shopping so i can get some things to review for you guys. If there is anything you would like me to review, just comment below on this post and I will get to it as soon as possible. Some new reviews on products i got are coming, but they are not that exciting…haha, sorry. Like i said. I don’t have all the money in the world to go out and buy beauty products but i try!
Looks like i will be talking to you guys very soon! Again, don’t forget to request things for me to review because as of now, i got notin’. As for Rose (some of you have been asking) she just hasn’t been able to do posts either. She has DSL at her house (very slow internet connection) so it is hard for her to get to a computer…

How to Give Yourself a Facial
This will be something new starting today that I just came up with…haha. If you don’t already know by the title, I guess I should just tell you again. It’s a beauty video of the week! What I will do is go on youtube and find a video that I like that is related to beauty and something that will help you guys. A new layout will be coming soon (whoops, did I just tell you that?!) and the video will be in the side bar, but since there really is no room in the layout, I’ll just have to post it here, oh well! I hope you enjoy!

Rose and I are back from an exciting vacation, and now it is time that I do a little review for you all. Something we have not done in a while! The day after we got back from vacation I made a little trip to the grocery store to buy a lot of products. The one I will talk about today however is some shampoo that I am dying to tell you all about. It is Sunsilk captivating curls. I already own the captivating curls leave-in conditioner and I really love it, so baffled by the rows and rows of wonderful shampoos and conditioners, i bought this one.
You might not know this, but I do have naturally curly (and frizzy) hair so any shampoo bottle claiming that they help de-frizz curly hair has me sold. The next day i needed to take a shower and was excited to test out my new shampoo. When it was time to lather up my hair i opened the fresh bottle and took a whiff of it. It smelled so amazing! I cant describe it other than a light, fresh smell. Almost citrusy…When I squeezed the product in my hand i couldn’t help but notice teeny tiny little sparkles in the shampoo. These sparkles however wash out of your hair with the rest of the shampoo, so that was a relief. (I don’t want to be walking around like a sparkle head, thank you very much) The conditioner was just perfect as the shampoo and when I stepped out of the shower after I was done, it smelt just like my shampoo and conditioner. Yumm!! Once Fully air dried, my hair felt great and there was less frizz! I didn’t put any additional products in it so I am very pleased with these products, and will purchase other Sunsilk products after this.
Thanks guys!
♥Megan

July 17th, 2009Fashion, UncategorizedIt seems like forever since i have posted anything on this website and i feel really bad. I just read Rose’s post and shopping and couldn’t help but to write one myself. I just recently earned some money and i can’t stop thinking of going shopping and buying something new. My weakness? Bags. If i see a cute bag, no matter the price I HAVE to get it. I have to admit though, walking past the designer bags in Macy’s temps me, but i know i wont be able to afford that thousand dollar Dolce & Gabbana bag i have been wanting. too bad
My birthday is coming up though and i am SO excited. The thing is i dont want a handbag or some new clothes, i want a new Canon Rebel XS camera. For those of you who have the least bit of what i am talking about, this Canon Rebel camera happens to be one of the best cameras on the market (and the most expensive one at that). If i happen to get this camera for my birthday, it would most definitely be the only gift I get. Therefore knocking out any possibility of me getting new clothes and shoes and bags…*sigh* if only i was rich.
This looks like its going to be a short post today folks. I have nothing better to say really other than i am very frustrated with this keyboard i am typing on. The ‘H’ key is all messed up so i have to press down really hard anytime i want to type an ‘h’. I should go now, but i will assure you that i wont go all MIA on you guys for a month again. I pinkie promise. OH! by the way, there may be a new layout soon ( i am so fed up with this one) so stay on the look-out for that!
Love,
♥ Megan ♥

June 29th, 2009Fashion, Uncategorizedhi its Rose and i thought that since me and Megan have been neglecting the sight for a while that i would start a new journal series on shopping. i know that it probably doesn’t interest you at all but I’m sure many of you can relate to how i feel . I dont like to think that I’m a shopaholic, but i do love the feeling of walking into a store and smelling that smell of fresh floral perfume, and feeling that sense of belonging. When the clothes just kind of invite you inside and ask you to try them on. Whether its the perfect pair of shoes or a Rolex watch guys and girls both can get addicted to shopping no matter what people say. It can affect anyone. Anyone can say that they like to shop but how many can say that when they shop it feels better than eating the best tasting food in the world or spending their whole summer brake in their vacation dream spot, or spending Christmas with their whole family in Hawaii, not many. Not many can say they depend on buying clothes like they depend on eating food. But shopping gives you an invigorating feeling like no other. It makes you feel special like the clothes chose you for a reason. Saturday, i was shopping and i found these three really cute shirts and i felt as if it was necessary for survival to get them. It was like if i didn’t get them i wouldn’t be able to make it through another day. Do you think i got them?
Well i did, but that was not the right question to ask, it wasn’t a matter of am i getting them it was a matter of who was going to pay for them my mom or me? Because that wasn’t all i got that day i also got 3 pairs of jeans 1 pair of shorts and also a pair of shoes. But were they also necessary for survival? That was the thing, i didn’t know… but i was pretty sure they were when i got them. You see i just saw this movie a couple of days ago called Confessions of a Shopaholicand it really made me think about my compulsive buying. I didn’t want to end up like her with 12 credit cards and $16, 000 in debt. I knew this was not a true story but It made me realize that i shouldn’t care so much about material things. But i cant help it. Its not like one movie can just change me but i am going to attempt to change myself and with your help and this journal i will tell you along the way about my journey to a more material free life
xoxoxo Your material girl Rose
