Affordable but quality Sometimes quality clothes are hard to come by when your shopping with a budget of under $5o bucks but every single outfit in this collection is affordable and under $45. Stores like Von maur and Macey’s may be good quality but i can almost guarentee you that you will not be able to find outifts for low prices. So next time you go shopping try places like Forever 21 and H&M, and though it may seem like Jcpenny and Kohls aren’t as high quality as Macey’s they have great jeans for low prices, and sometimes some nice shirts too. :) yours truely, shopgirl <3 and special thanks to Hanna for all the pics cardigan: platos closet. dress: forever 21 leggings: forever 21. shoes: Payless shoes.. outfit under $30

lately, i haven’t had much of a chance to get on the Internet because i have been so busy with school and yearbook, and newspaper so sorry about that but when ever i get on the Internet the one website i have been going to repeatedly and that website is a blog called seaofshoes.com. I find myself looking at her pics for hours i just cant help myself. I aspire to one day  have our blog as big as hers but i know it isn’t very realistic because for one she is well, very wealthy she goes on random trips all the time and i go on vacation maybe, once a year. She shops at designer stores and i shop at thrift stores. Her mom has her own blog too (which is also famous) my mom works at a university. She has been in teen vogue and Vogue and i read teen vogue and vogue. Let’s face it not everyone can be rich and famous. I wish i could shop at Chanel and LGB in Tokyo and barneys in new york ,and own my own pair of miu miu studded boots but the truth is not every teen in America is born into a family whose parents make 6 figures a year, or more. The real truth is my outfit is probably worth 20 bucks but i cant help that i still love fashion and aspire to write, design, and wear clothes that are worth more than everything i own. I cant help it at all. All i can do is continue to give you the real truth and not sugar coat it and not everyone in America can be like Jane from seaofshoes.com I’m sorry i don’t mean to offend you Jane  in any way the truth is i wish i was you or i wish i was in you position anyway. America i promise to continue to give you the harsh reality and and as jane takes pics of herself in her designer clothes and plenty of other random amazing pics we will do the same but in clothes that are actually affordable for the average person so your not just dreaming and wishing but buying clothes that fit, that are still cute, may be missing  just one thing (the label) but your gaining a lot more from it all. your wallet still has some money left in it, and by buying cheaper you get more :) so stay out of the poor house and shop at places like: Forever 21, Plato’s closet, H&M, and places that have realistic prices so keep tuning in cuz soon we’ll add sum pics to!

I don’t know if anyone else watched this show a religiously as me but i was just about obsessed with “The Fashion Show”,  which is now unfortunately over… I loved this show so much and was happy about who won, but honestly i would have been happy for any of those three to win, Daniella, James Paul, and of course the winner Anna.  But as you all should know if you watch the show the judges also awarded Daniella with a small prize (but still quite substantial) of ten thousand dollars. I feel that each designer in the top three brought something new and innovative that showed they deserved ton win. Now, James Paul got third in the end of the competition. I feel that James Paul’s collection was somewhat depressing but it really made you think. When i was watching his collection come down the runway it made me think about the future and what is to come i feel like James Paul made us look ahead to see what Will be not what is. Which was amazing but America just wasn’t ready for it yet. So watch for his name in the future because it is coming. Now, for Daniella she got second in the competition and also she received a smaller award.  She was the youngest on the show and it showed by her youthful, sort of “now” clothes , that made you look, and watch rather than just see them. I feel that Daniella was known to be the bitch of the show. But if you watched the last episode last night you will realize that she was just outspoken and confident. She felt like she had to be that way so she didn’t get walked all over being the youngest.  Daniella also brought something new to the table as a designer she brought her creativity and her ability to do everything in kind of her own way. She wrote the lyrics to the song and did th beat to the song that played during her show, she designed the jewelry and obviously all the clothes that were so beautifully constructed. ad i believe that she deserved second or first :)

Also Last but definitely not least Anna,  who ended winning the competition won a prize of $125,000 dollars. I think Anna was a very talented designer as well as the other two she was the most sell-able and a well liked designer on the show. I felt that i and America felt that all of her clothes were wearable and beautiful a the same time. She used color and patterns fearlessly she wasn’t afraid to take risks and she was nice and kind, but best of all her clothing was intricate and extravagant, like no one Else’s on the show.

Now here is your chance if you d\felt like Anna should not have won let us know.

Do you think Reco should have gotten voted off?

Do you think that Anna should have won?

Do you think that Daniella should have won?

What were your opinions about all of the collections shown?

please let us know about you comments and opinions on th show, the designers, and the judges, and of course the outcome…. :)

Hello, everyone as u can see Megan is back we apologize for her disappearance she was at her cottage with no Internet for a while so thank you for you patience. Today i am here obviously to talk about shopping and how even surprisingly to myself i have been doing better. Since i have started this new series i have in fact been shopping about 3 more times but i have not gotten anything not one thing… proud? i am and though it seems like such a minuscule thing it was harder than it sounds. i did in fact want to buys things simply for the sack of buying not because i actually needed or wanted the item. i had the urge to buy something because when i  bring home that new purse or shirt the world feels better and when i don’t it feels boring and sad… lately i have been in kind of a slump, usually the kind  i can get a nice fix from buying and it gives me a boost like nothing else. And it makes me feel alive and the person who i want to be not who i am. It makes me feel special. This feeling is hard to give up and without it i don’t feel like that special girl… this feeling none of my friends even understand. don’t get me wrong i love all of my friends dearly :) but this feeling i get from shopping makes me feel whole. and without it i feel useless and good for nothing. Shopping and fashion are the only things i have ever been good at. I don’t want this to sound like some story about a blond who maxed out all her credit cards or spends all of her dads money and is complaining that she needs more clothes because its just the opposite. (I’m brunette lol not what i meant) I KNOW that i DONT need more clothes and more purses. but that doesn’t stop me from wanting them, wanting what i don’t have. I think that i shop because partly that feeling i get but this feeling like i said makes me feel whole but why is there a hole. Shopping doesn’t permanently fill it it just temporarily numbs the pain. the thing is everyone has there one thing that they are truly good at and that they love to do, whether its singing, academics, running, swimming, or even computers, they all at least have there one thing but whats mine. that is what i am trying to figure out through this journey by the end of this journal i hope to find something that I’M good at to fill the whole rather than numb it for a little while. thanks so much for listening! so lets go through this journey together and all find that one thing that we are good at that we love too!

It seems like forever since i have posted anything on this website and i feel really bad. I just read Rose’s post and shopping and couldn’t help but  to write one myself.  I just recently earned some money and i can’t stop thinking of going shopping and buying something new. My weakness? Bags.  If i see a cute bag, no matter the price I HAVE to get it. I have to admit though, walking past the designer bags in Macy’s temps me, but i know i wont be able to afford that thousand dollar Dolce & Gabbana bag i have been wanting. too bad :(

My birthday is coming up though and i am SO excited. The thing is i dont want a handbag or some new clothes, i want a new Canon Rebel XS camera. For those of you who have the least bit of what i am talking about, this Canon Rebel camera happens to be one of the best cameras on the market (and the most expensive one at that). If i happen to get this camera for my birthday, it would most definitely be the only gift I get. Therefore knocking out any possibility of me getting new clothes and shoes and bags…*sigh* if only i was rich.

This looks like its going to be a short post today folks. I have nothing better to say really other than i am very frustrated with this keyboard i am typing on.  The ‘H’ key is all messed up so i have to press down really hard anytime i want to type an ‘h’. I should go now, but i will assure you that i wont go all MIA on you guys for a month again. I pinkie promise.  OH! by the way, there may be a new layout soon ( i am so fed up with this one) so stay on the look-out for that!

    Love,

    Megan ♥

hi its Rose and i thought that since me and Megan have been neglecting the sight for a while that i would start a new journal series on shopping. i know that it probably doesn’t interest you at all but I’m sure many of you can relate to how i feel . I dont like to think that I’m a  shopaholic, but i do love the feeling of walking into a store and smelling that smell of fresh floral perfume, and feeling that sense of belonging. When the clothes just kind of invite you inside and ask you to try them on. Whether its the perfect pair of shoes or a Rolex watch guys and girls both can get addicted to shopping no matter what people say. It can affect anyone. Anyone can say that they like to shop but how many can  say that when they shop it feels better than eating  the best tasting food in the world or spending their whole summer brake in their vacation dream spot, or spending Christmas with their whole family in Hawaii, not many. Not many can say they depend on buying clothes like they depend on eating food. But shopping gives you an invigorating feeling like no other. It makes you feel special like the clothes chose you for a reason. Saturday, i was shopping and i found these three really cute shirts and i felt as if it was necessary for survival to get them. It was like if i didn’t get them i wouldn’t be able to make it through another day. Do you think i got them?

Well i did, but that was not the right question to ask, it wasn’t a matter of am i getting them it was a matter of who was going to pay for them my mom or me? Because that wasn’t all i got that day i also got 3 pairs of jeans 1 pair of shorts and also a pair of shoes. But were they also necessary for survival? That was the thing,  i didn’t know… but i was pretty sure they were when i got them.  You see i just saw this movie a couple of days ago called Confessions of a Shopaholicand it really made me think about my compulsive buying. I didn’t want to end up like her with 12 credit cards and $16, 000 in debt. I knew this was not a true story but It made me realize that i shouldn’t care so much about material things. But i cant help it. Its not like one movie can  just change me but i am going to attempt to change myself and with your help and this journal i will tell you along the way about my journey to a more material free life

    xoxoxo Your material girl Rose

hi I’m Rose :) My best friend Megan and i decided a little while ago to start a fashion blog. We were so excited. I know that i haven’t added any blog posts yet but i have a hot topic that has been eating away at me for a while that i feel you might be feeling too.

Awesome of you may know a few months ago (correct me if I’m wrong) Cosmo Girl magazine unexpectedly closed. All of us Cosmo girl readers I’m sure were upset, i know i was! All we got in return was a letter explaining  that we would no longer be receiving their magazine because they were closing with no explantion or warning.  I personally think we deserved a little warning or explanation??! Cosmo Girl was so great they had the best ideas and they weren’t expensive ideas either, which i don’t know about you but for us middle class girls that don’t carry around loads of money or family fortune it’s hard to get quality clothes and makeup for cheap. Cosmo Girl gave me reason to care about what i wear. Although i have always loved fashion! :) seventeen magazine is great but i have personally experienced both and  liked Cosmo Girl more. So why is it that they closed!!? Honestly i think it is the underlying problem of our economy! Several newspapers in the nation are closing because they don’t have enough readers buying their paper and without readers they cant pay for the upkeep of sending them out everyday. this now unfortunately is affecting the fashion world. When the economy gets bad the prices of cosmetics and clothing and fashion magazines get more and more expensive, and Cosmo Girl just couldn’t afford it anymore. Now I’m not saying this is the case because i don’t know why they closed. but it is very possible.  if u have any comments or corrections please comment. But for everyone who doesn’t read the paper or magazine stake a gander u may find that you actually like them. thx :)
